Overview

Two Ships ("the App") is designed to help you discover moments you shared with friends before you met. We take your privacy seriously and have built the App with privacy as a core principle.

Information We Collect

When you use Two Ships, we collect the following information:

• Account information: Your name, email address, and username provided during sign-up via Apple Sign-In.
• Photo location metadata: We extract GPS coordinates and timestamps from photos and videos in your device's photo library. Your actual photos and videos are never uploaded or transmitted.
• Background location data: If you enable background location tracking, we periodically record your device's location to help identify shared moments even when you aren't taking photos.
• Connection data: When you connect with another user, we store the results of your location comparison (matched times and places).

How We Use Your Information

Your information is used solely to:

• Compare your location history with friends you choose to connect with.
• Display matching moments where you were in the same place at the same time.
• Send you notifications about new connection requests and match results.

We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, analytics beyond basic app functionality, or any purpose other than powering the core features of the App.

Data Storage & Security

Location metadata is stored securely on Google Firebase servers. Data is transmitted over encrypted connections (TLS/SSL). Your actual photos and videos never leave your device. We retain your data only as long as your account is active.

Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties. When you connect with another user, only the matched results (times and approximate locations) are visible to both parties. Your full location history is never exposed to other users.

Your Rights & Controls

You have full control over your data:

• Disable location tracking at any time from the Account page.
• Delete all your data from our servers via Account > Delete My Data.
• Delete your entire account via Account > Delete My Account.
• Revoke photo library access through iOS Settings at any time.

Once data is deleted, it cannot be recovered.

Children's Privacy

Two Ships is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes through the App.
